The paper dragon

Once there was a little boy,
	Bobby was his name.
Doctor's didn't know just what he had,
But he was dying just the same.

Then one day a little man,
	Came flying through the door.
He moved so very fast,
	He never touched the floor.

And he said,
"Bobby my little friend I've come to visit you.
You may not know who I am,
But I know your heart so true."

He reached into his pocket,
And brought out in his hand.
A special piece of paper.
	The only in the land.

"In my hand's a gateway.
	A doorway to the soul.
Even though you are sick,
	It can make you whole."

He gave it to Bobby,
	The paper to to take.
"What's you heart's desire,
What do you want to make."

And Bobby said,
"A dragon sir! strong and bold.
Like those in the story books,
	One that I can fold."

"Very well my little friend.
	A dragon you shall learn.
You must put your heart in it,
	To make the fires burn.

Kindle the fire,
	To give it flight.
Armed with love,
	To win the fight."

Taking up his paper,
Bobby did just as he said.
Folding with ease,
	There in his little bed.

Long hours,
	Into the night.
Sitting there folding,
	A wonderous sight.

Eyes wide with wonder,
	Seeing with sights.
Crinkling paper,
	Imagined flights.

There in that small room,
	A miracle took form.
A small boy lay dying,
	A new life was born.

Life came but slowly,
	Formed in his hand.
New dreams were crafted.
	Of a magical land.

Soon it was done,
	A creature of old.
The dragon was shaped,
But its heart still was cold.

"I don't understand sir,
	Why does it lie?
Fashioned with love,
	Why won't it fly?"

"Love is the tool,
	The heart is the key.
Fashioned by you,
	Your heart to set free.

Give it your life,
	Make it your soul.
Then it will fly,
	And you'll be made whole."

Found in the morning,
	A small crumpled form.
Lost in the night ,
	His parents now mourn.

But up in the sky,
	Lost from our view.
There flies a creature,
	Whose heart is so true.

Crafted with love,
	Formed by magic desire.
Creature made of paper,
With a heart made of fire.

Please remember, this is an unfinished work in progress.
